Synopsis
[title of show] began life in 2004 as an entry into New York’s Musical Theatre Festival. It follows the struggles of the author and computer / lyricist who are joined by their two female actor friends during their brief creative period.
With three weeks to go before the submission deadline, the friends decide to write a musical with the help of their two best friends. In short, it’s a musical about two guys writing a musical with countless musical theatre references. It’s a show that feels like a rummage through the dressing-up box of Broadway history. [title of show] is, above all, a love letter to musical theatre and to the joy of collaboration.
The musical received a Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical in 2009.
