Playwright: William Mastrosimone
Director: Damian Reid
Synopsis
A young woman, Marjorie, is attacked in her home by a stranger. Her roommates come home to discover that Marjorie has fought off her attacker and now has him tied up and at her mercy.
But what really happened?
Did he try to rape her, or did she overreact when he rejected her advances? How do you balance the need to support the victim while faced with a lack of evidence to back up their story? When does self-defence become torture? What happens when the power is taken from the attacker and transferred to the victim?
Extremities challenges the audience to re-evaluate their preconceived notions of how the victims of sexual assault are treated.
